PHILANTHROPY AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau volunteer all year in the Boston community as well as working to raise money for our national philanthropies: Prevent Child Abuse America(PCAA), Jewish Women International and Women for Women.
Our annual fall philanthropy event is ΣΔΤ Your Way Through BU. It is a buffet with food donated from resturants throughout Boston. The sisters of SDT sell tickets for the event which includes entertainment and raffles. All procceeds go to benefit our national philanthropy Prevent Child Abuse America.
In the spring, we like to change it up. In previous years, we have hosted It's GrΣΔΤ to be a Kid. The sisters of Sigma Delta Tau organize a carnival on campus. Guests purchase tickets to the carnival which includes games led by SDT sisters, as well as carnival snacks and raffles. Each guest places a pinwheel in the Pinwheel Garden, which is a national symbol of Prevent Child Abuse America. The Pinwheel Garden visually shows the impact our donations have on PCAA. Last spring, we introduced Campus Feud! Different organizations on campus are able to organize teams and answered questions in a family-feud-style; they helped us raise money for PCAA and won some awesome prizes!
